Casa de Vidro, São Paulo

In the hills of suburban São Paulo perches Casa de Vidro - the Glass House - the personal residence designed and built by Italian architect Lina Bo Bardi, who built her reputation building some of Brasil's finest examples of modernist architecture. Once commanding a view over the booming city, Casa de Vidro now lies hidden amongst verdent tropical gardens, a tranquil oasis away from the bustle and pollution of São Paulo's inner city madness. The house is open to the public and is the home of the Lina Bo Bardi Institute, which stages regular exhibitions in the house.
